Unit 0: Intro to 8th Grade Science

Summary

In this introduction unit, students will gain an overview of the skills that will be developed in 8th grade science, and the procedures and expectations we will use this school year. Students will also begin to develop a community and safe space within the science classroom. Students will become familiar with the scientific process and set-up their laboratory notebooks.

Lesson 1

I can identify at least 3 facts about 8th grade science.

Lesson 2

I can explain how I will show my learning and earn grades in eighth grade science.

Lesson 3

I can identify the steps of the scientific process.

Lesson 4

I can compare and contrast different ways of engaging in team problem solving in order to reflect on my own way of collaboration.

Lesson 5

I can boldly express my ideas in classroom discussions.

Lesson 6

I can show what I know about science.
