Unit 5: All Wound Up - 8 to 15 Days
Key unit vocabulary
General summary of unit:
All wound up has multiple variations and students could actually build 2 cars. For the first iteration you could have the students design an all would up car out of recycled materials and be forced to create & design their own prop. During this project you could assist students and guide them.
You could then have an official competition - 3 Days to design and build their Tech Fair Car.
If it is your first time teaching it, stick with the unit slides and build one car, it is important for you to build one first.
Skills students need or will develop:
Skills needed to work through the design process
Creativity, communication, and continued work on Standards of Workmanship.
Goals For A Final Project:
Students will use design process and create an All Wound Up Vehicle that travels a minimum of __ feet. You decide. Collaboration and the Iterative design process should be the focus for this project. It is a tech fair competition so select your 2 students to complete at the tech fair. Students will design and build a new vehicle from scratch at the tech fair.
