Summary of Unit:  

This unit provides the foundations for students in understanding and using computer technology.  The goals include:

• understanding and utilizing safe practices while online.

• identifying the defining characteristics of a computer and how it is used to solve problems.

• identifying the components essential to the operation of a computer including internal hardware and peripherals.

• applying the concepts of input-processing-storage-output to varied situations to understand how the components of a computer work together to solve problems and accomplish tasks.
