Through four engaging challenges focusing on branding, recipe development, packaging, and marketing, students compete to become class period winners and vie for the title of overall champion. Utilizing Schoology Discussion Posts for submissions and incorporating extra learning days after each challenge, this unit fosters creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration while preparing students for real-world business endeavors.
Skills students need or will develop:
Creativity: Students will need to exercise their creativity to come up with innovative business names, logos, recipe flavors, packaging designs, and marketing strategies that will appeal to their target audience of teachers and their pets.
Critical Thinking: Throughout the challenges, students will need to analyze and evaluate their ideas, considering factors such as market demand, cost-effectiveness, and practicality in order to make informed decisions that will contribute to the success of their biscuit business.
Communication and Presentation: Effective communication skills will be essential as students articulate their ideas, pitch their products, and justify their choices through written submissions and possibly oral presentations. Clear and persuasive communication will be key to winning over both their classmates and the teacher judges.
