General summary of unit:

You are planning to design and build the house of your dreams. You have found the perfect piece of property to build and now it is time to create a set of blueprints to give to the builder.
Your house must have a floor plan with a minimum square foot area =1000 sq.ft. and a maximum of 2500 sq. ft.
Your plans must be drawn to scale. 1/4" or one block is equal to 1 foot (12 inches)
Your house must have the following:
a gable roof style
2 bedrooms but you may have more
1 full bath but you may have more
Bedrooms and bathrooms must each have their own door
Kitchen and dining room area
A window in all exterior rooms
You may add other rooms and features
2 exterior doors
You along with your instructor will be exploring new ideas and learning as you PLAN YOUR HOME. (Use Google Log-in) You will want to make sure that you fully understand each of the concepts as you work, and be SURE to ask quality questions along the way. This will provide you with a great deal of useful information to support your overall project.

Preliminary sketches are used as a way to get a basic understanding of the house needs to make it more livable. If you had guests coming to your home and wore coats, when they entered where would they put them? Does the plan below need an entry closet? In Schoology, respond to the Good and Bad Features assignment. Complete the T-chart on the assignment with as many good and bad features as you can identify.
