What is Kami?

Kami is an annotation tool for secondary staff and students to use on their laptop/chromebook. It will allow you to highlight, markup, define words, text to speech and more! On top of that, it integrates with Schoology, our LMS for all secondary students.

Get Kami Extensions

In this video, we'll go over how to install the Kami extension and get started with your Kami account. It'll also introduce you to Screen Capture & Split and Merge extensions. These extensions will be made available for all students in grades 6-12.

② Schoology Integration from Teacher/Student Perspective

The Schoology-Kami Integration Workflow

The teacher assigns the Document via the Assign from Kami option in the Schoology Assignment tool.
The student selects Open in Kami to add annotations, shapes, comments, etc. They will they select Turn In to send it back to the teacher in Schoology.
The teacher then gives feedback inside Kami and will provide the student a grade via Schoology or PowerSchool.

① Go to kamiapp.com and sign in with your Google Account.

② Choose a PDF from Your Computer or Google Account

Add Comments, Videos, Interactive Images to Drag, etc. to the document.

④ Select Save (You can change the Folder if you wish)

⑤ Create an Assignment in Schoology and then add the newly created Kami document to the assignment.

⑥ Fill Out Info and select Assign!

  • Split Large PDF’s to manageable documents to send out

  • Merge multiple PDF’s to one larger PDF

  • Remove unwanted PDF’s like Answer Keys or Other Not-Needed Languages
