What is Notability?

Notability is a one time paid app ($10) gone FREE! It is now pushed out to all teachers in our district. It gives you the ability to annotate over any PDF (including Ready Math) and/or create your own fresh new document with tons of different templates that Notability offers.

Importing from iCloud/Drive

Make sure to link your Google Drive first so that Notability will have access to those files.

Getting to Know the Workspace

1️⃣ Sharing (creates a link, sharing as File, Email, Drive)

In presentation mode, you can utilize the laser pointer with four different colors or even the laser tail for emphasis!

Math/Text Conversion

Notability will recognize your handwriting and turn it into Math Type or Text. This makes it easy to create Math items or convert your handwriting to text!

Note Replay

Note Replay is a great feature that allows your voice to be recorded as you are writing. During playback, your voice is played and the items you were writing/highlighting are played at the same exact moment as you said it. Find out more!

Page Manager & Bulk Actions

You can use the Page Manager to quickly navigate to particular pages as well as copy, rotate, clear, or delete pages. You can also perform bulk actions which makes getting setup for next year a synch!

Screen Recording

The Laser Pointer will appear in the tool bar when you start a screen recording. That way, you can use your iPad as a digital whiteboard to capture and share notes with others that don't have Notability.

Single Page Mode

With Single Page Mode, you can swipe through your notes horizontally, one page at a time so that it feels like a Slide Deck

To Enable Single Page Mode: Tap on the Options icon (3 dots) in the upper right side of the note, select View, and select Single Page.

Using Multi-Note Feature

  • Highlight terms in a textbook and summarize concepts in another note.

  • Keep a meeting's agenda in view while taking minutes in a separate note.

  • Plan a vacation by writing a packing list while looking at your trip itinerary.

  • Use a blank note as a scratch pad while working on a class assignment.

  • Make a note of frequently used drawings that you can drag into other notes at any time.
