Why Diffit? Diffit is a freemium AI resource that has been my favorite sign discovering it in July. It has many features that are available in other platforms, but offers some valuable additional features that really set this resource apart from the others.
You can create informational and narrative text with a simple prompt. This will be developed at the grade level you specify and include things like vocabulary words, a short summary, and even a variety of DOK questions.
You can quickly adapt a text, website, or even a PDF to a particular grade reading level. This is probably going to be the most used application. It allows you to simply copy and paste or enter URL in to adapt the text to a specific grade level.
Translate text from websites, text, or PDF's for ELL's. While other programs can translate, this one will include vocabulary words, summaries, and questions in that translated language as well!
Export to Forms. This tool can do it all. Take your generated resource with the questions and all and export for it to a Google Form in seconds!
In summary, you can go from looking for a resource on a topic like The Lost Colony of Roanoke to create a passage leveled spanning from 2nd grade to 6th grade, 10 questions that vary in DOK, 5 vocabulary words, and a Google Form to turnkey in under 5 minutes!
Why Magic School AI? Magic School is the most diverse education-focused AI platform to date. It's got tons of resources, tools, and generators that are total game changers for teachers.
YouTube Question Generator: Have MS generate questions based on a YouTube video you will be showing. This is a great activity for station rotation/centers to keep students focused and engaged on the content you would like them to learn.
Text Leveling, Text Scaffolding, & Rewriting Tools: Similar to Diffit, you can use MS to level text passages for students. However, one other thing you can have it do is rewrite it using different words and tone. This can be extremely helpful for all students. For example, you can have it rewrite a text to include different vocabulary words, cut down the length, or include analogies to certain situations.
Reading Quiz Generator: Not just for reading teachers! Copy and paste any article, quick story, or informational text and have it give you a bunch of quick questions.
Choice Board Generator: Designing some stations/centers for your next lesson, but stuck on one more? Let MagicSchool AI help out! Just put in your topic and include things like “iPad/Chromebook Activity” or Hands-On in the Additional Details section.
Rubric Generator: Sometimes it’s difficult to start your rubric. Why start from scratch when you can start with an idea and format right away? This rubric generator can be aligned to any standard or objective, can vary point scales, and can use additional information to really customize that rubric for you.
There are so many more tools that you can use with Magic School AI that it is impossible to list them all! Go check it out today!
