This course will cover the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills of Algebra I. Included is the study of algebraic and rational expressions, evaluating expressions, operations with real numbers, equations, linear equations and quadratic equations, inequalities, relations, graphing functions, linear and quadratic functions, systems of equations and inequalities, exponents, polynomials, factoring polynomials, and radicals.



201021 Honors Algebra I 

Prerequisite: Recommended 8th grade math average of 90 or above, Credit: 1

This Algebra I course is the first in a series of rigorous college preparatory courses in secondary mathematics at the Honors and AP level. Review of material covered in previous years will be minimal and strong performance in previous mathematics courses should be considered essential. Students enrolled in this course should have a genuine interest in mathematics and quantitative pursuits and be willing to devote a significant amount of time outside of class to the course work. Included in this course is the study of number systems, operations, equations, inequalities, exponents, polynomials, linear equations, quadratic equations, rational Skills requirements of Algebra I.
