This course builds upon the objectives of Principles of Health Science with a special emphasis on hands-on skills, research, leadership, professional communication, and critical thinking. Students at this level will prepare career portfolios and explore in-depth topics such as medical ethics, substance abuse, current trends in healthcare practice, and technological advances in the medical community. They will also be introduced to hands-on professional skills such as suturing, sterile gloving & infection control procedures, advanced first aid, measuring vital signs, and recordkeeping.
