Prerequisite: Principles of Health Science, Health Science Theory, Biology, Chemistry. Anatomy & Physiology is strongly encouraged as a pre or corequisite. Application, background check, pharmacy technician trainee license, and drug test are required to be completed for admission to this program.

This course will provide the knowledge and skills necessary to work behind the counter of a pharmacy as a pharmacy technician. Students taking this course will be placed in internships with local pharmacies and will be required to complete 100 internship hours. 

Upon successful completion of the course and satisfaction with a minimum number of internship hours, students take the  Pharmacy Technician Certification exam through the National Healthcareer Association. Students are responsible for transportation, scrubs, license fees, and drug testing fees.
