This course, an enriched study of writing, language, literature, and reading, includes advanced sentence structure skills, intensive vocabulary study, critical analysis of texts, and a thematic study of literature. Composition skills include a review of paragraph development, sentence outlines, and multi-paragraph composition. Also included are personalized projects, student-led discussions, oral presentations, enriched literature units, use and evaluation of print and non-print media, STAAR and PSAT preparation, and library and research skills.
