MERAKI I: Literary Magazine

Prerequisite: Credit: 1

Featuring a brief survey of creative writing forms, Meraki Publishing will focus primarily on planning open mic nights, producing the literary magazine, and increasing the visibility of creative writing on campus. Meraki Publishing is a good fit for students interested in working in teams to plan events, advertise, conduct outreach, and coordinate and review writing submissions. Course material will include leadership development, communication strategies, project management, and creative writing. Students will also serve as mentors to Creative Writing students and planners of the Creative Writing Club. This is not an appropriate class for students who wish to focus exclusively on developing their writing abilities.

MERAKI II: Humanities

Prerequisite: Credit: 1

An extension of Meraki Publishing, Meraki Publishing II students act as leaders within the Meraki Publishing class. They guide their fellow students in creating the literary magazine, passing along skills and lessons learned the previous year.
