Floral Design is a yearlong course that is designed to prepare students to be successful in the floral industry. This course introduces students to the fundamentals of floral design, including categorizing the different shapes and uses of flowers, learning to identify flowers and plants, and recognizing and evaluating principles of art as applied to floral design and technique. Students will also learn successful business practices of the hospitality industry as applied to a retail floral business, such as sales, merchandising, and advertising. This course will count as a Fine Arts credit. 

Students will create and be able to take home seasonal flower arrangements throughout the school year, which may include projects such as a small table centerpiece, a holiday design, a flower crown, a corsage or boutonniere, etc.
