Prerequisite: Livestock Production, Equine Production, and/or two science credits

This course examines the interrelatedness of human, scientific, and technological dimensions of livestock production. Instruction is designed to allow for the application of scientific and technological aspects of animal science through field and laboratory experiences.  Students will learn about animal health and animal services with classroom and hands-on experiences, including shadowing at various local businesses. Upon completion of this course, students will have the opportunity to test for the Texas Veterinary Medical Association Vet Tech Assistant Certification exam.  This course may count as a 4th science credit for graduation.
