Entrance Requirements

**The levels/grades indicated below are the minimum acceptable but possession of these qualifications in no way guarantees acceptance.

**Non-Chinese speaking (NCS) students can use one of the following qualifications to replace HKDSE Chinese Language Level 3 to meet the entrance requirement.

• HKDSE Applied Learning Chinese “Attained” or above

• GCEAL/AS Chinese grade E or above

• GCSE/IGCSE Chinese grade C / grade 4 or above

*For programmes which require students to have possessed a good command of Chinese [ BEd (Chinese Language) & BA in Language Studies (Chinese major) ], waiver of the DSE Chinese Language requirement will not be granted.

General Entrance Requirements

*Including M1/M2

* Applied Learning subject (Category B) [excluding Chinese] will be regarded as electives subjects (Category A).

  • Attained with Distinction / Attained with Distinction (I) : Level 3

  • Attained with Distinction (II) : Level 4

*Other Language subjects (Category C) will be accepted as unspecified elective subjects. [Minimum requirement: Grade E]

*Band A applicants who fail to meet the general entrance requirements by one level in one of the HKDSE core subjects, but achieve excellent result(s) in the HKDSE subject(s) relevant to the applied programme(s) may also be considered for admission.

Programme-Specific Entrance Requirements

Same as General Entrance Requirements for all programmes except for...

  • Visual Arts and Music: attend an audition / practical test

  • Mathematics (Primary): Level 3 in Math + Level 2 in M1/M2 or Level 5 in Math

  • ICT (Secondary): Level 2 in ICT or Biology or Chemistry or Physics

  • Science: Level 4 in Biology or Chemistry or Physics

  • Integrated Environmental Management:

Level 2 in Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Geography

  • Artificial Intelligence and Educational Technology:

Level 3 in Math + Level 2 in ICT or Biology or Chemistry or Physics or M1/M2
