Duties 職責

More and more people are keeping pets in Hong Kong, therefore the demand for veterinarians is also increasing. For the time being, only the City University of Hong Kong offers a veterinary degree programme. Interested graduates can also study overseas. The following are the main tasks of a veterinarian:

香港本地愈來愈多人飼養寵物，對獸醫師的需求亦隨之增多，香港暫時只有香港城市大學提供獸醫學位課程，有興趣的畢業生亦可到海外地區進修，以下是獸醫師的主要工作：

• Help the pet in body checking, disease prevention, diagnosis and treatment

• 為動物進行檢查、疾病預防、診斷和治療

• Conduct tests for pets and analysis of inspection reports and results

• 為動物進行化驗，並對檢查報告和結果作出分析

• Help pets treat diseases with medical equipment and medicine

• 使用醫療設備和藥物等治療動物的疾病

• Observe the change of pet’s conditions and take corresponding measures to cure it

• 觀察動物病情變化，採取相應的治療措施

• Carry out epidemic prevention work for animals

About 44 hours a week, may work in shifts in private clinics and longer working hours

Entry requirements 入職條件

• Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine from University (available in accredited institutions in Australia, the United Kingdom, Canada, etc.)

具備大學獸醫學士學位（可到澳洲、英國、加拿大等地方的認可院校修讀課程）

• Qualification to be registered as a veterinary surgeon under the Veterinary Surgeons Registration Ordinance

• 獲得《獸醫註冊條例》註冊為獸醫的資格

• Level 2 or above in five subjects (including Chinese and English) in HKDSE, or equivalent

中學文憑試在中國語文及英國語文達第二級或以上

• If you are working in a government organization, you need to pass the Common recruitment examination (CRE) with Grade 1 results in the use of Chinese and English or equivalent

如在政府機構工作，需在綜合招聘考試(CRE)中，中文運用及英文運用取得一級成績，或同等學歷
