Duties 職責

The Speech therapist is an allied health professional serving persons with communication and deglutition disorders, including stuttering, cleft lip, autism, aphasia, hearing impairment, mental retardation and developmental retardation. The main tasks of a speech therapist include:

言語治療師是專職醫護人員，主要的服務對象為患有溝通及吞嚥障礙的人士，包括口吃、兔唇、自閉症、失語症、聽力障礙、智力障礙及發展遲緩等。言語治療師的主要工作包括：

Examine, evaluate, and develop appropriate treatment for patients
為患者進行檢驗、評估病況並制訂合適的治療方法
Observe and listen to the patient’s words and actions, and understand the patient’s problems and difficulties
觀察和聆聽患者的言行，並了解患者的問題及困難
Give treatment to patients through training, or the use of equipment and assistive tools
透過訓練、或使用儀器及輔助工具為患者治療
Provide advice and guidance to patients and their families
為患者及家人提供建議及輔導
