Every year, Pantone Color Institute gives life to the colour that will drive the global trends in the months to come. For 2025, the choice fell on a colour that promises to be the main protagonist of the most creative sectors. Anyway, how is this colour chosen and what does it say about the challenges we face today? Pantone is a colour classification system that has transformed the way the design and printing professionals communicate and reproduce the tones.
Created by Pantone Inc., this system provides a common language, allowing designers and manufacturers identify specific colours through unique codes.
Every year, Pantone announces the "Color of the Year", influencing trends in design and in fashion. Due to its precision, Pantone is essential for ensuring visual consistency in printed materials and to facilitate the creative process, making it an essential tool for those who work with colour.
Pantone chooses the colour of the year through a process of research and analysis which involves different phases. Every year, a team of colour experts and trend spotters examines social, cultural and design trends on a global level. This study includes the observation of events in the fields of fashion, art, design, technology and even consumer behaviour. The team gathers inspiration from various industries and geographies, taking into consideration the emotions and experiences that colours can evoke. After that, they are selected some colours that represent emerging trends and those that are expected to have a significant impact in the year to come.
At the end of the process, Pantone announces the colour of the year, which is used as a reference for designers, companies and artists all over the world. This colour thus becomes a symbol of what is happening in the world and can influence design and fashion decisions for the entire year.
On December 5, 2024, the colour of the year 2025 was announced, “Mocha Mousse” a warm and rich shade that combines shades of brown and beige, evokes the creamy and enveloping appearance of a chocolate dessert. This shade is associated with sensations of comfort and elegance, making it ideal for welcoming interiors or sophisticated clothing. It is a versatile colour that can be used both as a neutral base and as an accent in combination with other more vibrant shades.
The choice of “Mocha Mousse” as the colour of the year 2025 represents a response to the need of balance and serenity in turbulent times. Pantone wanted to focus on a colour that conveys security and comfort, reflecting the search for stability and return to calm in an increasingly frenetic world. With its understated elegance and its ability to adapt to various styles and contexts, "Mocha Mousse” promises to dominate the visual trends of the year ahead, bringing with it a feeling of intimacy and reflection.

Sophia: Welcome Charles Darwin!
Darwin: Thank you for inviting me, I'm very happy to be here to tell my story.
Sophia: Well, let's start then. Where were you born? How did you spend your childhood?
Darwin: I was born in Shrewsbury in 1809, my father was Robert Darwin and my mother was Susannah Wedgwoods. As a child I read the “Natural History and Antiquities of Selborne”. I was fascinated by it and started collecting insects, rocks and minerals.
Sophia: Interesting, and what school did you attend?
Darwin: After primary school, I attended Shrewsbury School.
Sophia: And what were your favourite subjects?
Darwin: My favourite subjects were maths and geometry.
Sophia: What did you do in your free time?
Darwin: I collected bird eggs and insects. I also did chemical experiments with my brother Erasmus.
Sophia: What university did you attend?
Darwin: My father sent me to Christ's college at Cambridge University. I felt like I was wasting my time, but I kept collecting insects. Once, while trying to catch a rare beetle, I put an insect in my mouth, then it sprayed an irritating liquid. That was terrible!
Sophia: I See. What was your most important expedition?
Darwin: The most important for My career was the expedition with Commander Fitzroi aboard the Beagle.
Sophia: Which places did you visit?
Darwin: I visited the Islands of Capo Verde, Maldives, South America coast, Australia and also the Galapagos Islands.
Sophia: Great! What did you do?
Darwin: I collected numerous samples of unknown species and gave them to the British Museum.
Sophia: Wonderful! We all know about your extraordinary book On the Origin of Species; was it difficult to write?
Darwin: It was difficult: I knew that my theories were very new for that time, I knew they were going to change the way biology was understood. I had to do many experiments!
Sophia: Can you explain what the Origin of Species talks about?
Darwin: Sure, in the book I talked about my theories: natural selection, evolution and the origin of species. Two concepts are important for understanding the origin of species: natural selection and evolution. Natural selection is the theory that explains the evolution of species: living animals which are better adapted to their environment are more likely to survive. Evolution is the continuous process of transformation of species.
Sophia: I see. Thank you very much for telling us your story…
Darwin: It was a pleasure!

SimonLuca interviews Bulgarian staff:
S: “How is organized the school system in Bulgaria?”
P: “It’s divided in three groups: Primary school, Secondary school and High shool, like in Italy. Students in the secondary school are from 11 to 13.”
S: “Which subject do you teach?”
P: “I’m not a real teacher but I’m a sort of student, a tutor.
S: “In your school are there technology lessons?”
P: “Of course, in a class there are 32 computers where students can work for their school projects, but there’s also a sort of lesson to learn the basics of technology theory, like pc’s hardware or the functions for the pc’s use.”
S: “Finally, where’s your school? Is it in the city centre?”
P: “Yes it is in the central district of our town, Sofia.”
S: “Thank you for your time”
P: “It’s a pleasure”
di Letizia Lenarduzzi, 3H
L.: “Good morning! It's a pleasure to meet you, my name is Letizia Lenarduzzi and I'll be the one who will interview you.”
T.: Good morning and thank you, you can start your interview by now.
L.: “Alright, usually how long is a school day?”
T.: “The school day in our college is from 8:40 until 4:30, there are 24 hours of lessons per week.”
L. “Do your students get a break between two lessons?”
T.: “They get 15 minutes to change class and get their books, our school is really huge and every class is made for a specific subject. With the covid pandemy the scholars had to stay only in one class, but since this year they started to change classes, like they did before.” Each class has certain tools for the subject in question, for example computer science has computers and tablets for students who don't have their own.”
L.: “How many languages can your pupil learn, and which are them?”
T.: “They can learn French and German and, in some schools like our college, they have the chance to learn Latin or GreeK too.”
L.: “At lunch time, do your students bring their food from home or the school gives it to them?”
T.: “Since we have a big cafeteria, the students don't need to bring their food. There is a chef who cooks for the teachers and the students, with the help of his assistants in the school's kitchen.”
L.: “Can scholars use an online book instead of a paper one?”
T.: “Yes, they can. But only in the case they don't have a paper book.”
L.: “Thank you for your time.”
T.: “It’s a pleasure.”

Why do women’s products cost more ?
The "pink tax" we all have heard of this term at one point. Most of the people don't know what it refers to or don't believe in its existence. The term "pink tax" was coined in the 1990s and early 2000s,when in California, a study by the Assembly Office of Research discovered that 64% of stores in five big cities charged higher prices to clean a woman's blouse than a man's shirt but the problem of gender-based pricing and discrimination has been around for a much longer time.Since then, groups and researchers have kept talking about and making people more aware of the pink tax.
The pink tax refers to the higher prices often charged for products marketed towards women, The term "pink tax" got its name because the color pink is commonly tied to femininity. This disparity in pricing occurs despite the products being essentially identical in function or quality. Services like haircuts and dry cleaning follow the same trend, with women frequently facing higher charges for comparable treatments.
The "pink tax" remains a significant global concern. Initially, the United States has begun the debate about women often paying higher percentages for identical or similar products, extending beyond daily essentials to toys, laundry services, and even pharmaceuticals and even tampons which are essential for a woman. This phenomenon goes beyond more than the cost differences. This unfortunate commercial policy has expanded all over the world, which is contributing to gender inequalities worldwide., including Italy.
Statics says on average:
Products marketed to women cost 7 per cent more than similar products marketed to men
Women’s shirts cost 15 per cent more compared to the average men’s shirt
women pay more for toiletries and more than 50 per cent more for deodorant and body wash, according to 2021 data.
Women pay 11 per cent more for razors compared to men*
Girls pay 13 per cent more for helmets and knee pads compared to boys*
Tampon tax
Another micro group of pink tax is Tampon tax which refers to the tax imposed on menstrual hygiene products like tampons, pads and menstrual cups. In the rest of the world there are those who have eliminated the tax like the United Kingdom and there are those who have chosen, like Scotland, to make sanitary pads free in schools and public buildings. These products are essential for women and should not be taxed, similar to how other basic necessities are not taxed.
On average a packet of tampon or pad costs 3,49 or more which isn’t affordable for third world countries and poor families. That’s why they most oftenly use a cloth which is very unhygienic if not maintained well or used properly, which can lead to several issues such as fungal or bacterial infections of the reproductive tract
Efforts against the pink tax have led to legislative measures globally. Awareness campaigns, via social media and other channels, aim to educate consumers and highlight this injustice. Eliminating the pink tax would not only positively impact women’s economic standing but also represent a significant step toward a more equitable and inclusive society.

The Italian school system and the American school system are two very different educational systems. For example, our school is structured in a rigid and hierarchical manner, with a greater focus on theoretical learning and memorization and the students are usually divided into classes based on age and follow a predetermined curriculum that includes subjects such as mathematics, science, history, and foreign languages.
On the other hand, the American school system is more flexible and oriented towards practical learning. American students have the opportunity to choose the subjects they want to study and customize their educational path. Additionally, the American school system places greater emphasis on experiential learning and social interaction, encouraging students to work in groups and actively participate in lessons.
Another significant difference between the two schools is the evaluation system. In Italy, students are primarily assessed through written and oral exams, while in the United States, a variety of assessment methods are used, such as group projects, presentations, and multiple-choice tests. This more varied approach allows American students to demonstrate their abilities in different ways and develop skills such as creativity and problem solving.
Finally, another important difference concerns the organiation of school time. In Italy, students spend many hours in class each day and have few breaks during the day. In the United States, however, students often have more free time during the school day and can participate in extracurricular activities such as sports, music, or theater.
In conclusion, the Italian school system and the American school system have very different educational approaches, with the former being more structured and traditional and the latter being more flexible and oriented towards practical learning. Both systems have their strengths and weaknesses, and offer students unique educational experiences that prepare them for the future.

Religion
The religions in South Korea are Buddhism and Christianity; a large portion of the population is in fact made up of Roman Catholics and Protestants. But most of the Korean population is non-religious.
Food
Korean cuisine is based on the use of rice, vegetables and meat. Traditional Korean meals are distinguished by the large number of side dishes (banchan) that accompany steamed short grain rice. Kimchi is served very often, sometimes at every meal. It is a traditional Korean dish, made of fermented vegetables with spices and jeotgal. There are hundreds of varieties, each with a different vegetable as the main ingredient.
Clothing
The hanbok is the traditional dress of South Korea, created to distinguish the way Koreans dress from that of Westerners. The dress consists of two pieces, an upper and a lower one: a jacket called chŏgori and a skirt called ch'ima or a pair of wide trousers called paji. The history of traditional Korean dress dates back to the Three Kingdoms period in the era of the kingdoms of Koguryŏ, Paekche and Silla. The oldest traces of the use of hanbok clothing are found in the wall paintings of the tombs of the royals and aristocracy of Koguryŏ.
Sport
The national sport of South Korea is Taekwondo, declared as such in the early 1970s. Other very popular sports are archery and baduk, an ancient strategy game to which two television channels are dedicated.

Greg Koch is one of the greatest living guitarists in the world. Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1966, he has released more than 15 albums with various bands, as well as various guitar books and methods.
We met him in Terni, where he was with his band "Koch-Marshall Trio" to perform in the music festival "VISIONINMUSICA". The Koch Marshall Trio is an instrumental group consisting of three elements: guitar (Greg Koch), drums (Dylan Koch, Greg's son), and organ (Toby Lee Marshall, who plays a Hammond B3). Their latest studio album, "From the Up'Nuh", was released in 2021. Here's what he told us.
Claudia/Caterina: “ We are Claudia and Caterina thank you for your time”
Greg: “Thank you!”
C: “ We work for the school magazine of the Middle School De Filis Terni and we want to ask you some questions about your music”
G: “ok!”
C: “So the first question: how was your passion for music born?”
G: “I had older brothers and sisters, I was the youngest of seven kids, my brother was the oldest and I was the youngest, so there were five girls in between (chuckles) and so my brother and I had a room together. My brother went to high school in the late 60s. He didn’t play music but he loved to, he listened to a lot of music so I was exposed very early too, you know, Jimi Hendrix and Cream and The Beatles and The Stones, all that stuff, and there was such a reverence for musicians of that era, with really all my family members and the music just spoke to me, I just felt like, especially Jimi Hendrix, I had this weird thing where I was like: “That just spoke to me”and I always wanted to do it. My mum was a very good piano player. She would teach me little things, she would just sit down and play, and I didn’t really realize until I was older that she… (chuckles)… I came home from college and I thought: “I bet when I hear my mum playing now is gonna sound, like you know, childish, you know” and she was cooking a holiday meal, she went to the other room and she started playing piano and I was like: “It sounds pretty good!” but I didn’t recognize any of the songs and so I said “Mum, what are those songs that you’re playing?” and she said “Oh I just make it up as I go along” So that’s where it came from, it came from my mum.”
C: “How long have you been playing the guitar?”
G: “ It’s been forty-some years… forty-four years, I started when I was twelve”
C: “Can you tell us something about the different music styles that you play?”
G: “Sure! Well As I said I was really into two/three main guys: Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jeff Buckley and Jimmy Paige were my four guys. So that’s how it started, but I would read who they were influenced by ‘cause I wanted to figure out who they listened to, so I would always see the names, you know, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Albert King, Freddy King, T-bone Walker, Otis Rush, all these people. So I started researching them and I started to listen to a bunch of old Blues stuff. Right about at the same time I heard some country guitar players that I really liked, so I started listening to all the Western Swing stuff, Jimmy Bryant, Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins, things of this nature. And I was into some Jazz stuff as well. So I started to get into some very different Jazz people, you know, Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, all these kinds of folks. But in my mind I always wanted to put it in kind of a rock band with all these different influences because all my favourite bands from back in the day, whether they’d be Led Zeppelin or whoever, seemed to do that, they would play. I was like, hey, that kind of sounds like an R&B tune. But it always had this hard edge to it. That's kind of what I try to do. I have all these different influences, but I try to do it in a band format.
C: “Why do you always use the Fender guitar?”
G: “Well, I play my Reverend Guitars now, which are modified versions of what the Fender guitar is. Initially I wanted the Les Paul because I wanted to play like Hendrix but to me Hendrix was like a magicians, you just couldn’t do it. But Jimmy Page, is like, “that, I think it could be done”, for some reason, but I remember wanting a Les Paul early on, I got a Les Paul copy, but it didn’t stay in tuned and just really didn’t do what I wanted it to do, so my first main electric guitar was a Fender. And I kind of bounced between playing Fenders and Gibsons for years, but mostly Fenders. Then I got affiliated with Fenders, so then I really played them. But it's always been that kind of world for me. I love the simplicity of a Fender Telecaster, but that was the first Fender guitar that was available to me. So as a result, I just developed on that. It's not that I wanted that particular guitar. It's the one that was available to me, and I just learned how to play it, and that really kind of became my thing. So that's kind of what happened.
C.: “What is the importance of a good music teacher to become a professional musician?”
G: “ Well, you got to be crazy (laughs out loud) You want to be a musician, you got to be a little cuckoo. It's very difficult. Everyone has to choose their own path. My dad tried to talk me out of being a musician. He talked to every one of my teachers, saying, will you talk some sense into this kid? There's no way. Because my dad was a lawyer, all my siblings went to college for the most part. I think maybe one of them didn't. But they were all professionals. They all had good jobs and degrees. And so the idea of me being a musician was just something that was unthinkable. It was just uncharted territory for my parents. They put the fear of God in me. So that's one of the reasons why I think I practiced so much because I thought, well, if I don't really practice to be the best I possibly can be, I'm going to starve to death. But why I talk about the crazy thing, is that you have to be confident almost to the point of being a little crazy. Everyone tells you, oh, there's no way you're going to do it. And the whole time you look at it going, you don't seem to get it. I've got this thing and it's going to carry me through. So there has to be a little bit of a belief in yourself and a love of what you do that is so strong that whenever adversity comes, as it will almost on a daily basis, the love of what you do has to be stronger than the obstacles that will come in your way. So you just gotta keep on going. Frank Zappa said it best: He goes, “you want to be a musician? Remember two things: don't stop and never give up. Those are the two things.
C: “How important is the family during the process to become an artist?”
G: “Well, I think it's very important. As much as my dad didn't want me to be a musician for a profession, he certainly made sure I got all the lessons I needed and supported me going to college and all that other kind of stuff. But I think it was kind of one of those things where even though he gave the support because I was his kid and he wanted to make sure I was interested in stuff and followed whatever dream I had, he was also very skeptical. But that kind of played into me. I was like, I'm going to show you. And then I did. But it took a while because he would occasionally have friends over and they were, like, “What is he doing?” “He's going to be a musician…You know what I mean??” Thanks, dad!! And then years later, I'd be in a restaurant and he'd be like, do you know who my son is? (chuckles) So it changed around, but for me with my kids, well, my oldest, obviously, is playing drums in the band. I tried to make sure he had the opportunities to do stuff, but I never tried to push him in any particular direction. You got to let people do their own thing. My oldest daughter went to school. She was a theater major, and then she graduated from that and then she went to this other theater school. So she's pursuing acting and she's actually a physical theater person. She does clowning, she does all kinds of crazy, she devises shows, all this kind of stuff. So it's been an interesting ride with her as well because I want to be supportive. And my thought is, life is short, do what you really want to do. So for me in our family unit, I try to be as supportive as possible for the artistic stuff, but also with the realization that life isn't all about the money, but it is a little bit. So you got to figure out a way to be able to support yourself with your art because mom and dad aren't going to do it forever (laughs out loud).
C.: “Have you ever encountered any big obstacles during your career?”
G.: “Well, when I first started out, I always wanted to have my own band and write my own music, record my own music, all that kind of stuff. And I did that at a pretty early age, in my early twenties, I had my own band under my name. I booked the band, recorded all that other kind of stuff. And I tried everything that I thought you were supposed to do, try to get a record deal, try to get this and that, try to meet important musicians and hopefully they'll help you and all these different things and just realized it was very difficult. And also I think there was also the thought, and I think a lot of people have this thought too, is that they think someone's going to hear them playing and go, oh, pick you out of obscurity and bring you over here to the promised land. And that almost never happens unless, I mean it does happen every now and again, but also people win the lottery every now and again too. So I had to at one point just think, okay, well, am I going to do this professionally? I got married, started having kids, and what's okay money when you're single versus what's okay money when you have a family, are two different things entirely. So I realized that I had to open myself up to some possibilities that maybe I'd never thought of before in terms of how to make money playing. And it all kind of worked out and there's always been disappointments. But I find that one of the biggest things I did years ago, well, it was kind of a life choice and a career choice is I stopped partying. I mean, to me, when I was in my late twenties, twenty-eight, I think I just decided no more drinking, no more partying, all that kind of stuff, because it was taking a turn to the point of no return. So that was a huge decision and lifestyle change that I think ultimately added to my success, as opposed to a lot of times you'd be playing in places and you'd be like, well, I don't really care where I'm playing, as long as I get to drink and hang out with my friends and raise cane and all that kind of stuff. And then when you stop drinking, and you show up at a venue, you're like: “What am I doing here?” So once that happened, it really changed the way I looked at things in general. And ultimately, it was better for my health and mental health and so on and so forth. So that was a huge thing.
C: “Thank you so much. Thank you for your time. It's been a great pleasure.”

Stranger Things is one of the most popular and well known tv series that dates back to 2016.
It’s a Netflix production and there are four different seasons, the last one was released in 2022.
The tv series is a mix of different genres, such as for example science fiction, horror and romance.
Millie Bobby Brown plays the part of the main character Eleven, who is a twelve year old girl with mental superpower and who is capable of moving objects with her mind. Her mental strength and her concentration are so intense that always make her nose bleed.
Finn Wolfhard plays the part of Mike, Eleven's boyfriend. He has two sisters and a mother who will be an important character in the story. Noah Schnapp plays the part of Will Byler, Mike's best friend, who will later become Eleven's stepbrother and the first victim of the Mind Flayer, a chain of monsters. Caleb McLaughlin plays the part of Lucas. He is part of their group and is Max's boyfriend. The actress who plays her is Sadie Sink, who will be the latest addition to the group. Gaten Matarazzo plays the part of Dustin, who will sing with his girlfriend Suzie the song "Never Ending Story". They are the main characters but others are also very important in the series.
I recommend seeing Stranger Things because it will make you enchanted by its special effects and the skill of the actors. You will not be disappointed if you are looking for a tv series that embrace many different genres and that brings you to a new, amazing dimension.

Global warming is a problem that we can’t easily solve these days, because it’s caused by:
Cutting down forests.
Pollution.
Fossil fuels.
Consuming too much.
Greenhouse effects.
Cutting down forests
Why has cutting down forests become one of the main parts of global warming? Well, it’s pretty easy to say. When the trees are degraded or completely cleared by fire (for example), this stored carbon has the potential to be released back into the atmosphere as carbon dioxide and contribute to climate change.
Pollution
Air pollution includes numerous harmful substances such as greenhouse gases and carbon dioxide.Pollution stunts economic growth, exacerbates poverty and inequality in both urban and rural areas and significantly contributes to climate change.Poor people, who cannot afford to protect themselves from the negative impacts of pollution, end up suffering the most.
Fossil Fuels
Producing and burning fossil fuels creates air pollution that harms our health and generates toxic emissions that drive to climate change. From the electricity that lights our homes to the cars we drive to work, modern life was built on fossil fuels like coal, oil and natural gas.
Consuming too much
What Happens When World Energy Consumption Increases? Increasing energy demands around the world pose a threat to the climate if we continue to rely on fossil fuels for the majority of our energy needs. Currently, too much of the global energy created uses sources that emit carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
Greenhouse effects
Greenhouse gases have far-ranging environmental and health effects. They cause climate change by trapping heat, and they also contribute to respiratory disease from smog and air pollution. Extreme weather conditions, food supply disruptions, and increased wildfires are other effects of climate change caused by greenhouse gases.
What shall we do?
We can start save the planet by following 10 easy steps:
-Change a light
Replacing one regular light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb will save 150 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
-Drive less
Walk, bike, carpool or take mass transit more often.
-Recycle more
You can save 2,400 pounds of carbon dioxide per year by recycling just half of your household waste.
-Use less hot water
It takes a lot of energy to heat water.Use less hot water by taking shorter and cooler showers and washing your clothes in cold or warm instead of hot water (more than 500 pounds of carbon dioxide saved per year).
-Avoid products with a lot of packaging
You can save 1,200 pounds of carbon dioxide if you reduce your garbage by 10 percent.
-Adjust your thermostat
Moving your thermostat down just 2 degrees in winter and up 2 degrees in summer could save about 2,000 pounds of carbon dioxide a year.
-Plant a tree
A single tree will absorb one ton of carbon dioxide over its lifetime.
-Turn off electronic devices
Simply turning off your television, DVD player, stereo and computer, when you’re not using them, will save you thousands of pounds of carbon dioxide a year.

Curiosity: Father's Day is a civil event widespread in some areas of the world, celebrated in honour of the father figure. The date on which it is celebrated varies somewhat from country to country. While in some countries of Catholic tradition Father's Day is celebrated on St. Joseph's Day on March 19, in the United Kingdom, for example, it is celebrated on the third Sunday of June. The first to celebrate it were the Benedictine monks in 1030, followed by the Servants of Mary in 1324 and by the Franciscans in 1399. As regards Father’s Day traditional food, in England sweets are based on creams and /or jams, with choux pastry, and they are called Nordic Choux Pastry. In Rome they are called Bignè di San Giuseppe, while in Tuscany and Umbria the rice pancake is popular as a typical dessert.

“Terni Skateboarding” is an innovative experiment in our town. In fact, it is a skaters’ association but not only… Five years ago, some boys aged 13-18 founded this association with different purposes: introducing a new sports specialty in Terni, a new lifestyle and a new urban culture.
“Terni Skateboarding” has got 20 official members and a lot of guys regularly practise this sport in Terni squares and streets. The group is a real uncompetitive team where all the members try to improve their performances, but where everyone is ready to recognise the worth of the others. It is not necessary to be rich to practise skateboarding; in fact, only two things are necessary: a skateboard and a good pair of shoes. Many girls are joining the association because this sport is deeply equalitarian. The most famous skateboarding champion in Italy is a girl, Asia Lanzi, and she is going to represent Italy in the forthcoming Tokio Olympic Games.
“Terni Skateboarding” aims to obtain a skatepark in Terni like in many others places in our country. Where there are football pitches, tennis courts, swimming-pools and ice-rinks, there are also better life conditions for everyone and not only for kids. Sport is the best way to prevent addictions and deviations. Building a skatepark is very easy, not very expensive and likely to upgrade many places such as grey outskirts with healthy movement, colours and joy.
