Revolution In The Head

Genre : Biography

Author : Ian MacDonald

Synopsis

The book picked up its pace, once the book got into its format. First the name of the song of, followed by who was playing what and then U.K. and U.S. release dates. The story gives a good summary of every song the Beatles have ever recorded. The book is set in chronological order mixed with the dates when the songs were recorded. This set up is a bit hard to follow so the dates and years are very important and you should pay attention to them. I love and appreciate the Beatles and their music and if you don't then I would say that this book is not for you. In the first 20 pages of this book I found myself very bored. It talked about a lot of things that I already knew. Although the Introduction pages were slow and time consuming to read; they seemed like they would drag on for forever. Then it got a lot better when it picked up it's pace. This book acknowledges the use of drugs in the Beatles career and may not be suitable for younger readers.

I would give this book four and a half stars out of five because of the slow intro and the ways the dates are set up in the book. Otherwise besides those small flaws the book is perfect and is one of the best I've ever read.
