Buck, a mix between a St. Bernard and a Sheepdog, lives at the house of the wealthy Judge Miller. The year is in the 1890's and the Klondike gold rush had just sparked. Buck is quickly stolen and sold into sled dogging and is sent to the Klondike region of Canada and Alaska. The main conflict is that Buck is fighting his instincts. Being a great big dog, he should be fierce and dangerous but living at the judge's place has suppressed them. Buck needs to answer "the call of the wild" which is his instincts he was born with.
