A man by the name of Peter Jenkins decides to walk across America with only 2,500 dollars cash and his dog. Fresh out of college and recently divorced, Peter is depressed and having trouble in life. One stressful afternoon Peter is talking about how America is a horrible country and that he is just going to leave it and its problems behind to his friend who was a janitor at the near by college. The janitor, who was about 75, told him that he couldn't just leave behind a country that he barely knew. At this moment Peter decided to leave his home town where he had spent his whole life and embark on a journey across the great country of America. This book is about his captivating journey and the many diverse people he meets.

I only gave this book four stars because even though it is interesting and exciting, it does at times get annoying because of how extremely enthusiastic the author is. This is just my opinion but overall it is a good book.
