Holes

Stanley Yelnat's family is under a curse. This curse began when his no-good-dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-great-grandfather didn't take a girl name Madam Zeroni up to a mountain. She said if he forgot about her that he and his family would be cursed forever. This curse has gotten Stanley into a place called Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is a detention center for boys who have done wrong with their life. This camp helps the boys build character. The boys build character by digging holes. These holes are 5 feet wide and 5 feet deep. At Camp Green Lake Stanley makes a friend; everyone calls him Zero. Zero digs faster than anyone. He doesn't talk and do much except dig holes.
