The Perfect Stranger by Megan Miranda is about an ex-journalist, Leah Stevens, who runs into her old roommate, Emmy, after her boss asked her to quit her job. They decide to move somewhere together, and start over. They move to a small town in western Pennsylvania where their pasts couldn't follow them. Leah works as a teacher and since they have different schedules it takes Leah a few days to realize she went missing. She soon realizes that her intentions of flying under the radar are not going to last if she is to find out what happened to Emmy. She opens up to Detective Kyle Donovan. As the case moves forward Leah soon realizes that she didn't know Emmy as well as she thought. Or did she know her at all?

I rated this book with five stars because it was made up with a whole mystery. This girl knows one of her closest friends for years, only to find out she doesn't know her at all. It's filled with mystery, suspense, and romance. Megan Miranda makes this book draw you in because you never see the endings coming.
