I gave this book 4 stars because most parts of the book were interesting. A few of the stories were a bit longer and no as exciting. It was good because it gives a lot of background as to why Paulsen wrote his other books. Also the part narrating his childhood was very interesting and it tells how Paulsen acquired his love of dogs and nature.
