Announcements

1. Thanksgiving Brunch Potluck: TODAY November 23 everyone is encouraged to fellowship together over brunch between worship services in the Fellowship Hall.

2. Hanging of the Greens: TODAY November 23rd after the 11am service come be a part of decorating CUMC for Christmas.

3. Angel Tree: the tree is up in the Narthex & ready for you to bless a child in our community. This year the angels have an index card attached that you can remove, fill out with the necessary info & leave in the basket. If you would like a family unit, the numbers of all the angels in a family is provided. All wrapped gifts must be returned to the church library no later than Sunday December 7th. If you are able to help with delivery, contact Doreen; delivery will be December 9th.

4. Food Closet: with the state of the economy & the recent government shutdown, many in our community have needed to visit the Food Closet as never before. There is a black plastic tote in the Narthex where you can drop off donations. The request for the week of Nov. 17-23: canned chicken, canned tuna, Ramen, canned soup, peanut butter, jelly, & juice boxes. Let’s continue to be the hands & feet of Jesus in our community

5. CUMC Wood Ministry: Thank you to everyone that helped make our first wood delivery day of the 25/26 season successful. We had 12 volunteers (ages 2 to 83) and 6 trucks. We are expecting to have a busy season, and I am thankful for everyone's continued commitment and support for the CUMC Wood Ministry. We are still looking for volunteers with access to a pick-up truck to make local firewood deliveries starting November 15 through March. 6. Youth Joint Friendsgiving Celebration has been canceled for today.

7. IGNITE Youth Serve at Manna: Wednesday November 26th at 9:30am at Culpeper Presbyterian Church.

8. Help the Food Closet: from now until November 26th, they are working with the Culpeper Safeway in the “Round-up” program to help give those in need food for their Thanksgiving meal. At checkout you can roundup to the next whole dollar. That “donation” will be earmarked for the Food Closet. Let us help the Food Closet help our community.

9. Children’s Christmas Cantata: Sunday December 7th at both the 9am & 11am services.

10. Blue Ridge Chorale Concert: Sunday December 7th at 3pm in the Sanctuary here at CUMC. All are invited

11. CUMC Christmas Light Festival: Friday December 12th & Saturday December 13th from 6pm-8pm. Some members of Blue Ridge Chorale will sing on Friday.Bring the whole family and invite the neighbors for a time of celebration & wonder.
