Announcements

1. Bucket Sisters, Second Mile Giving: With your generous donations we were able to assist a total of 13 families in need with CFC funds. There were 13 families that were helped to prevent disconnect or to restore service of their fuel/electric/water. The amount used to prevent/restore was $2,664.27.   Total dollar amount of CFC funds used in November 2025 was $2,664.27.

Message from Empowering: On behalf of myself and the entire team at Empowering Culpeper, I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your incredible generosity.  Your donation of coats will make a real difference for individuals and families in our community. Your kindness, compassion and willingness to give so abundantly reflect the true spirit of service and love.  Because of your kind spirit and open hearts, we were able to collect and distribute nearly 400 items. With deep appreciation, Sharon Guenther & the entire Empowering Culpeper team. 

4. Ignite Youth Christmas Party: TODAY Sunday December 21st at 4:45-6:30 PM.

5. Confirmation begins February 1st: registration for confirmation is open on the church’s website. Confirmation is for students in 6th grade & up. Have questions? Please contact Cheyenne or Pastor Josh.

6. First Gifts to Jesus: This year CUMC will again be taking a special offering during Advent to benefit local Mission activities in our community. The offering will be divided among Manna Ministry, the Central Virginia HUB, the Piedmont Warming Shelter, and Handy Hearts. There will be a special envelope in the pew racks. If you donate by check, please mark the memo line “First Gift to Jesus.” 

7. Children’s Ministry Pop-Tarts & Pajamas: Sunday January 4th children are invited to wear their pajamas to church to ring in the New Year! We will celebrate by having pop-tarts during Kids Connect.

8. Food Closet: with the state of the economy & the recent government shutdown, many in our community have needed to visit the Food Closet as never before. There is a plastic bin in the Narthex where you can drop off donations. The hot pick items are requested: canned chicken 12.5oz cans, canned peaches, fruit cocktail, dried black beans in 1 lb. bags, strawberry jelly, & bars of soap. Let’s continue to be the hands & feet of Jesus in our community.

9. CUMC Wood Ministry: We are expecting to have a busy season, and I am thankful for everyone's continued commitment and support for the CUMC Wood Ministry. We are still looking for volunteers with access to a pick-up truck to make local firewood deliveries starting November 15 through March.
