Announcements

1. Angel Tree:. All wrapped gifts are due TODAY. Sunday December 7th. If you are able to help with delivery, contact Doreen; delivery will be December 9th.

2. Blue Ridge Chorale Concert: TODAY Sunday December 7th at 3pm in the Sanctuary here at CUMC. All are invited

3. Youth Hand Chimes: TODAY Sunday December 7th at 2:45pm-4:45pm in the Fellowship Hall.

4. Ignite Youth Christmas Party: Sunday December 14th at 4:45pm in the Fellowship Hall.

5. Ignite Youth Praise & Skate at Culpeper Skating Center: Sunday December 21st at 2pm-4pm.

6. Volunteer Readers to CUMC Preschool: If you are interested in reading a short children's Christmas book to one of our preschool classes, please sign up on the sheet located in the Narthex or email Caroline Headley at preschool@culpeperumc.org. 

7. Christmas Eve Nursery Help Needed: Youth & adult volunteers that have previously served in Children or Youth Ministry are needed in the nursery. You can choose either the 2:45pn-4:15pm or 4:45pm-6:15pm time frame. Contact Cheyenne at NextGen@culpeperumc.org for more info.

8. First Gifts to Jesus: This year CUMC will again be taking a special offering during Advent to benefit local Mission activities in our community. The offering will be divided among Manna Ministry, the Central Virginia HUB, the Piedmont Warming Shelter, and Handy Hearts. There will be a special envelope in the pew racks. If you donate by check, please mark the memo line “First Gift to Jesus.” 

9. Food Closet: with the state of the economy & the recent government shutdown, many in our community have needed to visit the Food Closet as never before. There is a plastic bin in the Narthex where you can drop off donations. The request for the week of Dec. 1-7: pantry staples; sugar, flour, cornmeal, condiments (mustard, ketchup, mayonnaise), vegetable oil, rice side dishes, spam. Let’s continue to be the hands & feet of Jesus in our community.

10. CUMC Wood Ministry: Thank you to everyone that helped make our first wood delivery day of the 25/26 season successful. We had 12 volunteers (ages 2 to 83) and 6 trucks. We are expecting to have a busy season, and I am thankful for everyone's continued commitment and support for the CUMC Wood Ministry. We are still looking for volunteers with access to a pick-up truck to make local firewood deliveries starting November 15 through March. CUMC Christmas Light Festival: Friday December 12th & Saturday December 13th from 6pm-8pm. Bring the whole family and invite the neighbors for a time of celebration & wonder.
