Evacuation Procedures
This section relates to the evacuation of a Citipointe gathering that does not involve an armed intruder.
As Citipointe holds multiple services on its campus it is not possible to appoint ONE person to be at every single event.
In the event that the Chief Fire Warden or Deputy Wardens are not on site, an Executive Team Member or Brisbane Pastor or staff member in charge of the meeting will take responsibility for organising the evacuation of people.
Sound of the Fire Alarm / No Alarm
If an alarm sounds, whether there is evidence of a fire or not, the building must be immediately evacuated.
If a fire is detected and no Alarm has sounded, any person finding a fire should may hit the emergency call / break glass box on the wall. Staff and volunteers should begin the immediate evacuation of the building as below.
Announcements and Slides
If the alarm has sounded or fire has been detected or there is some other reason to evacuate A1, the person with the microphone at the time, or one of the persons rostered on platform nearest to the platform will announce - "The fire alarm is going off. We must evacuate the building. Please move to your nearest exit quickly. The children are being evacuated right now to the football oval".
The Service Manager should alert multimedia that the Evacuation slide should be put up and tell the MM team to evacuate, then they themselves should evacuate as well.
Escape Routes

The escape routes from the main building are those shown on the evacuation plans on walls around our building. The escape route should be the closest exit not inhibited by fire or smoke.

Volunteers and other Staff Involvement
In the event of an evacuation of A1, Staff and Volunteers who are in attendance would assist in the safe evacuation of the building by shepherding people to the nearest exit and asking them to clear the building.
Facility staff would pull back the curtains if they are closed.
Staff and volunteers can push open the fire doors on either side of A1 and latch them back if that can be achieved or stand there and hold them open if it is safe to wait and do so.
First Aid
Though a First Aid Officer is not rostered for each service, a list of doctors, paramedics, nurses and the like can be found at the Information Desk.
A first Aid Kit is in the cupboard. In the event of an Evacuation, one of the Information Desk team (which is rostered on for every service) will take the First Aid Kit to the Evac area along with the list of First Aid Officers, and locate one of them to help at the Evacuation area.
A defibrillator can be found at the Information desk.
