The EPC is responsible for the development, implementation and maintenance of the emergency plan, emergency response procedures and related training. At the Carindale campus, the EPC consists of the Chief Fire Warden, Deputy Fire Wardens, the Communications Officer and Compliance Officer.
The EPC at other campuses include the Location Pastor and/or other staff who discuss, document and outwork the Emergency Evacuation plan of each Location. They form part of the ECO.

The ECO facilitates the safe and orderly implementation of the emergency procedures in a building, including the evacuation of the occupants from the building when appropriate. The Emergency Control Organisation is a structured organisation of people employed within a building who take command on the declaration of an emergency, pending the arrival of the fire brigade or other emergency service.
The staff who are trained in emergency evacuation includes the EPC and Area Wardens (if appointed) within the buildings. Details of these people can be found in Appendix 1 and in poster format on the various safety walls in each building. For any other time outside of normal work hours, other staff and key volunteers may have roles in this Organisation for the purpose of an emergency.
