These instructions apply to all buildings on our Brisbane Campus.
If you hear an alarm in the Main Building, a smoke alarm at SoHo or Marketplace, or someone calling 'Fire Fire', you must exit the building and move quickly to the Evacuation Assembly area.
If you hear an alarm in the Main Building, a smoke alarm at SoHo or Marketplace, or someone calling 'Fire Fire', you must exit the building and move quickly to the Evacuation Assembly area.
In the event of a fire being well alight, whoever is on hand and has detected the fire is able to break the glass on one of the Manual Call Points – which will set off the building alarm.
If the Evacuation Alarm is sounding the FIRE DEPARTMENT have been alerted by the Fire Indicator Panel (FIP) automatically.
If you come across a fire, and the alarm is not going off, you should call 000 and give directions to the property and location of the fire. The Fire Department do not mind more than one phone call.
The Chief Fire Warden, Andy Meyer, must then be called to alert him to the situation. The Chief Fire warden will also call 000.
