Citipointe has a legal obligation to ensure the safety of any person in our buildings in the event of a fire or hazardous material emergency under the Building Fire Safety Regulation 2008. This site will address our requirement to provide:
General Evacuation Instruction
Evacuation Coordination Instruction
The Building Safety Regulation 2008 (including amendments 2009) gives specific instruction to all workplaces and are to be strictly adhered to by all staff.
By no means can a person on our property, staff or otherwise place an obstruction within 2m of a final exit outside a building; or in another place on an evacuation route of a building that would likely: unduly restrict, hinder or delay a person (a potentially injured person) from evacuating the building as easily as possible.
Evacuation Assembly points for Citipointe campuses have been selected well away from the buildings. In the event of a fire, people are NOT to gather immediately outside a final exit of a building in a way that would be likely to unduly hinder the passage of persons leaving the building.
All exit doors to all Citipointe buildings are maintained so they are not a hindrance in the event of an emergency exit from a building.
Citipointe Church will ensure that prescribed fire safety installations, where appropriate and applicable, are maintained as is required by law:
Fire Alarms
Fire extinguishers
Fire hoses
Emergency exits
Citipointe must have in place safe practice for the lockdown of our buildings in the event of a threat.
