May is Mental Health Awareness Month
Arkansas Arts Academy is hosting an arts celebration for Mental Health Awareness Month. Our choir director Shari Cathcart-Seivert has organized the event and invited fellow teachers and students to participate.
To help in the celebration, Director of Arts Integration, Aaron Jones, and East Initiative instructors, Robert Beard and Robert Plant, came up with a concept that would allow students enrolled in EAST classes to create an interactive station which demonstrated how technology could help with Mental Health.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE EVENT
3D Printing Pen Station
Thanks to the generous funding and educational support from the Scott Family Amazeum, Arkansas Arts Academy East Inititative students will now have 3D pens as equipment for their instruction! To show our appreciation and participation in the 2024 #NWAMakerDays event, the students organized a station at the Colors of Connection celebration which brings awareness to Mental Health month. East Initiative students created templates of green ribbons, representing Mental Health, then helped facilitate the public to create their own version of the ribbon and wear it proudly!
