Edible CELLS
Biology, Pre-AP Biology and Human Anatomy students created edible cells to illustrate the different components of the cell. Students had to choose between a savory or sweet palette to create their edible cell. This project allowed students to visualize the aspects of a cell through the use of culinary arts.
Objective: Students will enhance their understanding of cells by creating a model made of food.
Outcomes:
Students will be able to visualize and construct what an animal cell looks like.
Students will be able to connect the functions of each organelle with the structure.
Students will incorporate different baking or cooking techniques in order to create a flavorful product.
Students will create a product that has cohesiveness in the various flavors.
