Success Criteria:

  • We will check the rubric to see what is needed in our speech.
  • We will plan our topic and reasons.
  • We will plan with our audience in mind.

Term 3 Week 6

WALT use topic sentences to start our paragraphs.

Success Criteria:

  • Our topic sentence will be an interesting summary of what our paragraph is going to say.

Task

  • Identify your topic sentences in your own persuasive using a highlighter or light coloured jovi.

WALT draft and recraft a persuasive piece of writing that discusses the topic: "Homework should be banned".

Success Criteria:

  • Writing follows the structure of a persuasive piece of writing.
  • Writing uses paragraphs.
  • Writing includes different sentence types.
  • Writing includes interesting adjectives.

Independent Task:

  • If you have not finished your homework persuasive writing you need to do that.
  • You also need to rate your writing using the rubric- put your completed publishing and rubric on seesaw.

If you've finished that then choose one of these prompts to write about or choose something that you're passionate about.

Task:

In your literacy book/or online draft a piece of writing that persuades your reader of your opinion.


When you have published your writing on Seesaw make a copy of the rubric and highlight where you think you sit. Include a link to your rubric on seesaw. Make sure that your sharing settings allow anyone to view.

  • spelling and punctuation
  • paragraphs
  • interesting adjectives (describing words)

  • Create an interesting PMI about Ben Lecompt
  • Write questions you would like to ask Ben for an interview.
