Why: To get students and teachers excited about Steam. Allow senior students to take on leadership roles.
When: Tuesday 31 July (Week 2) during the school day (See below for times).
Where: All around our school, wherever we can find space. The spreadsheet linked below has more information.
What: Senior students and myself have planned some engaging workshops for Middle and Senior Students to take part in. Take a peek at the work in progress here. Year 2 students will be able to take part in the activities designed by the senior students in their own classes.
How will it work:
Year 2 - 9:30am A group of R4 students will arrive and run a lesson with you. They will bring all they need and will manage the learning. By the end of the lesson your students will have used beads to make a necklace using binary code.
Seniors - Middle block.
11:05 Gather in hall with required devices (Students need to have signed up beforehand)
11:20 Presentation from guest and then organisation for workshops
11:20 - 12:20 Students attend the workshops.
12:20 Students move back to their own classes.
Middles - Afternoon block.
1:35pm Gather in hall with required devices (Students need to have signed up beforehand)
1:50pm Presentation from guest and then organisation for workshops.
1:50pm - 2:50pm Students attend the workshops.
2:50pmStudents move back to their own classes.
Middle and Senior teachers sign up students on this spreadsheet. Please spread your class evenly and encourage the students to choose workshops where they will try something new. e.g R3 & 4 will not be attending the Minecraft session. The colours show how many spaces are available for each session, Please do not exceed the number of spaces for each session.
On the day please remind students to bring the devices they'll need to their workshops. This information is on the spreadsheets below the workshop sign up area.
