Over the past few weeks there has been a bit of media coverage for the new Digital Technologies curriculum. We are pretty well placed to engage this new curriculum area and we are probably already teaching much of it. No doubt there will be more resources and information to come. No need to panic.
Update: There are some information sessions being offered for IT leaders next term, we'll feedback anything exciting.
Prep for the holidays
Please complete the checklist of school issued devices in your class before lunchtime Friday (It'll get delivered to you Friday morning). I will send a R4 student to collect the checklist just before lunchtime. Thanks for your help with this task.
Remember to lock all your class equipment away for the holidays.
Teachers can now create accounts to enroll students and classes. This allows for easier student sign up and management of content.
Here's more information about this.

Remember coding and programming links well with cycles - regular repeated patterns. Next term could be a good time to add it into your classroom programme. Remember we have the Probot programmable car, the Beebots and the MBots.
There are lots of online tools too - Scratch, code.org, codeacademy,
Please plan ahead if you are using the equipment in the hall. It is not fair on the students if you have not invested a bit of time to check everything is working. They should not be put under any undue stress. I know all our school and teacher laptops work with what we have - other hardware is at your risk not the IT leaders.
Your class ipads might also have an app named, "Scan."
Here's a qr code generator - useful if you don't have enough wall space or want students to access something specific online from a mobile device.
Here's a crossword generator for you and your students to use.
Relax......
