Google slides v Powerpoint/Keynote
Docs v Microsoft Word/Pages
Google Sheets v Excel/Numbers
Often we get tied into using one tool because that’s the one we know best. But that tool isn’t always the best tool for your purpose. The best cast for this I see here at school is in assembly. Most often we are using Google slides to present on the screen when an offline tool would be better. Unless you are planning on sharing the slides via your blog or with students to edit then Powerpoint or Keynote (the apple version) would be much better because they don’t rely on the internet. I think relying on the internet, although it is mostly fine, is a bit of a risk when presenting to an audience.
Did you know that you can download videos from youtube so you don’t need any internet connection when sharing a video in assembly?
Copy the video url into this website, choose the format and download. You don’t need to sign up or install anything (there is a bit of advertising).
