Overview of Pixar

Pixar Inc. produces animated feature and short films. The company also provides RenderMan, a line of software products to create visual effects. Pixar Inc. was formerly known as Graphics Group and changed its name to Pixar Inc. in 1986. The company was founded in 1979 and is based in Emeryville, California. As of May 5, 2006, Pixar Inc. operates as a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company.
