Good afternoon,

I have been in contact with several faculty members from the Education Unit here at SUNY. Some of you may have received a letter regarding student teachers. It would be wonderful if it works into your schedule, but if not understood.

  • The student teachers this fall are participating in a Living on the Edge - Poverty Simulation on September 27th at 4pm at the SUNY Field House. If any of you are interested in participating as community resource members please let me know. It takes roughly two hours for the simulation.
  • Professor Michelle Timmons would like to know if any of your are interested in presenting to her student teachers any other topics you feel might be beneficial to soon to be new teachers. Technologies used, Math, Common Core... They meet on Wednesday evenings on the following dates Dates: 9/28, 10/12, 10/26, 11/9 . Perhaps you could create a panel or present as a group.
  • Professor Amy Gervich also is inquiring if any of you might be interested in presenting to her students - they meet on Tuesdays from 4-6 at the NCTRC. Again anything you feel would be beneficial for them. She is curious if at the secondary level there is a difference in the engagement of parent involvement and how you enlist participation.

Let me know if anyone or group is interested. Have a great day!

Kathy
