  • Nanotechnology training at the Westport CSD. (Thank you Tonya for sharing)

The technology teacher at Westport, Tonya Lackey, has arranged a Nanotechnology training at our school on March 30th. She attended a Nano-Link workshop at a conference over the summer and had rave reviews. The workshop is free and even includes lunch from Green Goddess. Supplies kits for the activities can also be obtained free of charge. Instructors are flying in from Minnesota for this one day workshop, so we would like to make it worth the trip by filling all 25 spots. We are first opening it up to k-12 Westport teachers, but we are expecting to have 15 extra slots to fill. If you are interested in attending please let me know as soon as possible. Feel free to pass this information on to others. Take the time to check out the link below. Even if you can’t attend the workshop this might be a good source or lesson supplies. I have also attached the workshop agenda.

  • From SUNY Central - Josephine Salvador, Director

Please share the following two items in your next communication to MTs in region.

a. For Master Teachers who joined in January 2018:

From Santos Avila, regarding the Comptroller and the NYS Vendor Management System process: We had not received any communications about the status of your submitted paperwork so we inquired on your behalf. The NYS VMS reports that they are currently processing the papers for the Master Teachers who began officially January 2018. They add that they believe there will be ample time to setup the banking information for the June 2018 stipends. You are very welcome to email us in the central MTP office, masterteacherprogram@suny.edu, but we do not have any additional info. When we do, we will be sure to share it with you! Thank you for your patience.

b. Annual Conference… .

Thank you to all who have offered PLT's, Collegial Circles (AKA Book study groups) workshops etc...to make the NC Master Teacher Program a success. Your continued dedication is so inspring. I look forward to seeing many of you in the weeks ahead.

Have a great rest of the week,

Kathy
