April 4, 2018 Update

Post date: Apr 4, 2018 12:45:09 PM

Just a few updates and reminders:

  • Thank you to all who presented/attended the March conference days. I have asked Art to put on the calendar 5 hours of planning time for the Friday conference and 5 hours for the Technology Day. Both days were a great success and could not have happened without all of you.
  • If you are interested and have not yet signed up for the Biology workshop to be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 in Hudson Hall at SUNY Plattsburgh - Please let me know ASAP as the presenters are contemplating the postponement due to low enrollment - Also please indicate if you will require housing to attend.
  • There will be no formal cohort meeting this month - the scheduled time will be used for NC Challenge teams to meet.
  • We are anticipating, within the next week, an announcement of those who will be invited to interview for the next round of Master Teachers. If you are interested in assisting for the day on Saturday, April 28, 2018 and have not yet let me know please let me know that also.
  • The May meeting will be in Watertown on May 5-6, 2018. NC Challenge Teams will present on Saturday. Please plan for no more than 5 - 10 mins per team presentation. (If you think your presentation will need more time please contact me) Competed challenges will be posted on our website - so if digital is available that would be helpful. During this meeting we will also recognize the members of our cohort who will become emeritus in August of 2018. More information to come on the complete agenda for this day.
  • NC Master Teacher Retreat - this year our retreat will be at the Minnowbrook Conference on June 28-29-30, 2018. Note - this is a change from the dates on your calendars distributed earlier. (Complete agenda to follow)
  • NYS Master Teacher Annual Meeting will be in August - the planning committee is seeking RFP for conference presentations. Please refer to the latest issue of STEM. I strongly encourage our members to offer a session - you all have a great deal to offer your colleagues.

I wish everyone a restful and relaxing spring break. I look forward to seeing you in the weeks ahead.
