DESIGN ADVISORY BOARD (DAB) MINUTES

June 28, 2023

Brabazon initiated recording. Greenland called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m.

The motion carried 4-0

Andrea Conrad gave a brief overview of the new sign proposal.  The color blue was identified as the same color as the barn located at the Barnstead property located next to the subject property.   The color of the rest of the sign (posts and frame) will be a weathered barn board gray colored.  The lighting as proposed will be a down cast LED lighting housed under the roofing and is proposed to meet the lighting ordinance, not to exceed 40 watts and color of 2700 kelvin.  The roofing over the sign will be a faux slate rubberized and is the same product used on already approved Barnstead property. 

The setback will be a minimum of 25’ from the centerline of the road.  The height will not exceed 10’-0”.  Applicant also anticipates adding stone to the base of the sign posts.  

Watanabe made a motion to approve the sign as presented with clarifications made to colors and materials noted.  Seconded by Shoener.  The motion Carried 4-0

 

Michael Pugliese gave an overview of the signs.  Frank Crane will be fabricating the signs located at the front of the store. The exterior lighting needs to be modified to down casting and properly shielded.  The lighting component will need to meet the requirements of Sign Lighting section 10.11.  The lighting limits will be limited to a total of 150 watts of incandescent light and 40 watts LED.  The color will be less than or equal to 3000 kelvins.

 

Watanabe made motion to close seconded by Shoener.  The motion carried 3-0

 

Applicant has requested to move the meeting out to August as the owner has requested additional changes and was not ready to present for this meeting.

The applicant presented her plan to install a new sign at this location and did not plan to have any lights.  The applicant has also mentioned that the location of the sign was not over any walkway and would not impede any pedestrian or vehicular traffic.  The Board had no additional questions or concerns.  A motion was made by Watanabe and seconded by Shoener.  The motion carried 4-0

Other Business:

With no additional business Watanabe made a motion to adjourn the meeting and seconded by Shoener.  The motion carried 3-0   Meeting Adjourned at 5:33
