Beampointing is a GUI that can use motorized mirror mounts to correct for pointing errors on CCD cameras. It is designed for slow drifts and not shot to shot fluctuations. To use the program after a configuration has been created for already, see the video below:
To set up beampointing for the first time:
Software is in interface builds (ex. Z:\software\control-all-loasis\HTW2020\Active Version\builds\Interface builds\General GUIs\GUI_BeamPointing\BeamPointing.exe)
When you open software, it will prompt you to select a configuration file. For new set up, you will not have a configuration file yet. Click cancel.
Navigate to "Config" tab. Select camera which you want beampointing to be active on, and two motors (X and Y) on an upstream optic. On the left menu, "Save Configuration" and name your config file.
Load your config file. The camera feed should show up in the "Main" tab.
Align beam as desired onto camera. Use T1x and T1y below camera feed to place crosshair on beam. This will be the target the beam will correct to.
IMPORTANT: Once satisfied with T1x and T1y, go to the camera on Master Control and save "TargetBP.X" and "TargetBP.Y" as default, using T1x and T1y values. This will prevent the target from resetting to an undesired position if camera is reset.
