The Expert Tab loads controls and indicators that help control system developers to diagnose problems with Master Control. Some controls are available to advanced users.
1. Enable Background Shots Check Box: When checked, enables background shots at the beginning of the Scan
2. No of Background Shots Control: A Numerical entry box that allows users to set the number of background shots requested.
3. Ping Type: There are two choices with the Ping Type:
i. ping (Slower): A sequential ping is sent to all device computers
ii. nmap (only if installed): pings all device computers in parallel if nmap has been installed on the computer running Master Control.
4. Allow const tcp variable update check box: When checked, the selected active variable on the Scan Tab will update its value real time. If unchecked, users will have to hit the "Get Value" button to query for the variable's latest value.
5. Continuous ping Check Box: When checked, Master Control will periodically ping computers with OFF devices.
6. Ping Computers Button: A manual button to initiate a ping to device computers
7. TDMS preview Check Box: When checked, Master Control launches a program that allows user to view the data acquired and stored during the SCAN in a TDMS file.
8. Active Dev/IP indicator: A list of devices with their respective computer IP addresses.
RED Rectangle – Ignore Devices that don’t acquire timely.
- Now you can choose to ignore TCP timeouts from devices so that they don’t stop your scan (This is different from Turning ScanDataGetStatus Off). Master Control would not wait longer than the timeout for the device to complete its acquisition before sending out the next shot.
- The timeout for ignoring it is 2000 ms but you can change that.
- The new default settings are Ignore TCP Timeout – On, TCP timeout – 2000 ms
- To go back to old functionality – Turn it Off and set the timeout to 6000 ms
- You can view the devices that did not complete acquire in the Scan Data Tab.
YELLOW Rectangle – Prevent mis clicks during commands.
- To prevent mis clicks during commands, the cursor would now not be able to click things while the command is executing.
o E.g. When you command a stage to move, your cursor would be locked till the command is fully executed. (So be careful to set tolerances for your devices.)
- There is a 30 second default timeout for it to exit incase the command cannot be executed but you can change the timeout here.
