How to Setup Hexapod C887
Connect Hexapod C887 controller to the computer with USB and turn controller on
Navigate to support folder to download the PI MikroMove software - C:\GEECS\Developers Version\source\Support\Pi Hexapod C887
Open PI Mikromove and check that the comport (communication port) are matching in the controller software and device manager. Also check the controller model number.
Press Connect in Set Up Controller
Select All Axes you want to reference/calibrate. You can reference automatically too
Wait till all axes are referenced
Close the small window and you will see the hexapod in the PI Mikromove software window.
Check if the axes are moving by moving them to a safe target distance
Close the PI MIkromove software on successful check
Open DB Editor> Device Ops > Device > Device(Add). Add the relevant details as shown below. The DeviceType is HexapodC887
Go to Device Ops > Device variable Ops > Device variable (Edit/Add). Can change IP address to change the computer.
Navigate to the correct device
Set PivotPoint.R, S, T to desired values or leave them as the default values (Recommended for setup, can be changed later once setup is complete, used for changing pivot center)
Reset & Simulation should be OFF
Stepsize should be 0.01
Set the VisaResourceAddress to the correct comport number
Set the u,w,vangle and x,y,z pos min and max values to be within a reasonable limit and make them user settable
