Sewon Kim received the Santorini Best Poster Award, which consisted of 1000 Euros (approximately 1,560,000 Korean Won), in an international meeting 'Mutation Detection 2011' held on June 6 to 10 in Santorini, Greece. The award was given to only one poster presenter by the Greek Municipality of Thera (official name for Santorini Island, alternative spelling Thira) in the Gala Dinner, which was held in Dionysos Tavern, Firostefani, Santorini on June 9th evening. In the upper picture are shown from the left to the right, Dr. Aglaia Athanassiadou (Local Organizer), Sewon (Awardee), Vice-Mayor of Thera (Awarder), and Dr. RIchard Cotton (Chair of the Organizing Committee). In celebration, Sewon danced with the Local Organizer, Dr. Athanassiadou, who is Professor Emeritus of Molecular Genetics, University of Patras, Greece, among others.
