Grade 6 - HMH INTO MATH

In Grade 6, HMH Into Math focuses on building a strong foundation in ratios, rates, and rational numbers while transitioning students from arithmetic to more abstract mathematical thinking. Students develop fluency with fractions and decimals and learn to apply these skills to real-world problem solving.

Instruction includes working with ratios and unit rates, understanding integers and absolute value, and beginning to write and solve simple algebraic expressions and equations. Students also explore area, surface area, and volume while strengthening their ability to reason mathematically and explain their thinking.

This course emphasizes developing problem-solving strategies and preparing students for formal algebra concepts.
