Genetics

This course will begin its investigation with Mendelian genetics.  Why...because Gregor Mendel discovered the basic principles of genetics.  The basic concepts he investigated using simple plants which had only 2 visible characteristics set the foundation for all genetic research.

Genetics is a one semester class that will utilize Mendel’s basic concepts to investigate complex inheritance patterns that affect all of us.  What are the chances of having a child that is a boy or a girl, how is it that a family has all girls, can I donate my blood if a family member requires a transfusion, why is my hair curly, and too many others to list?

Genetics is held in the fall semester.
