We had some tasks left which had to be done today so we completed all of our planned tasks from the weekly sprint. One of these tasks was to do some research about seminar and courses. We found one and registered us for an event from IBM at San Francisco for the same day. There we had the opportunity to hear some informative speeches about machine learning and AI. One of them was about anomaly detection with DeepLearning4J which could be potentially transformed to a use case. We took a lot of notes and we had to sort them out in what was really related to our goals. Furthermore, after contacting a few start-ups, Flowcast was ready to share their ideas and approaches with us. We set up a meeting for Wednesday morning at Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale.

After the morning lecture at Santa Clare University, we were invited to be part of a company-wide meeting with lunch at the MobileIron HQ. Ojas was giving a presentation to the company on GDPR – the European privacy regulation – and how it could positively impact MobileIron’s business. At 4:30 p.m. we had a meeting with Suresh – the co-founder and CTO of MobileIron – and he talked about machine learning as well as how he came up with MobileIron. It was a very interesting and informative discussion with him. For this reason, we were having potential use cases in our mind we possibly can apply for our project.

This morning we had a meeting with Ken So - the founder of Flowcast - at the Plug and Play Tech Center in Sunnyvale. The technicalities about specific machine learning approaches were not very helpful but we got some great ideas how to continue our research and how to manage the next steps of our project.

After todays morning lecture we had a meeting with Prof. Schneider. There we discussed the progress of our project and coordinated our next appointments and events. Later we visited NASA nearby Mountain View and enjoyed a short presentation from their employee. After visiting NASA, we went to the enjoyable and very fascinating 49ers game against the LA Raiders at the Levi's Stadium where we had cold beer and hotdogs. It was a very close match but unfortunately the 49ers lost.

Today we had a WebEx meeting with Ojas at the Santa Clara University where we addressed a brand new announcement at Microsoft concerning the Intune EMM solution and what that could mean for MobileIron. We pretended to be in the situation of the CTO at Michelin, who Ojas is going to meet next week. So we thought about arguments Ojas could give to the CTO of Michelin what makes him to stay at MobileIron's EMM solution and not moving to a competitor.
